About

Born in South Yorkshire, I now work from my home studio in Hampshire as a book binder, mixed media artist and writer.
I completed my degree at the Winchester School of Art, closely followed by a Post Graduate Certificate in Book Arts and Crafts from the London College of Communication, where my passion for book making began.
I love the form of a book, the potential for creativity it has.
This has enabled me to succesfully pursue a career as a maker of traditional hand stitched books, alongside varying experimental structures of artists books.
I have always written personal journals and latterly I have begun to make one off artist books with my own content, as well as publishing blogs and written pieces online.
I am Interested in the narrative of memory that objects hold, and the connections between objects and people. Keen to reuse and recycle old, forgotton trinkets, I spend time foraging through vintage stores and auctions to rescue objects such as trinket boxes, plates and powder compacts which I can transform into meaningful recycled gifts which are more sustainable and have heirloom qualities.
I share my time working from my home studio, selling at craft markets and travelling in Florence the campervan, sourcing materials and meeting new people.
Alongside the materials I use, I also work using my beautiful cast iron book press for my book binding, as well as typewriters for some of my work and also using my 221 Singer sewing machine.
Other interests include sighthounds, the world in miniature, Dr Martens, locked room mysteries and my much yearned for flea circus.

This is the most beautiful note book
I have ever had! I am writing a 21 days of love challenge in it. I can feel the love with which it was made.

Perfect! A combination of beauty, artistry and technical craft. It was sent quickly and packaged safely. I love the feel of opening a handmade book, turning a page you are in a different time and place.
